WHEREAS, "Louie, Louie," as musical hit written by Richard 
         Berry, as achieved phenomenal international suc-
         cess; and

WHEREAS, many Seattleites grew up with "Louie, Louie" and 
         applaud the song's recent resurgence; and

WHEREAS, individuals, organizations, and media throughout 
         Seattle are joining the Seattle Center to support 
         a "Louie, Louie" benefit concert for the Northwest 
         Harvest Food Bank; 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHARLES ROYER, Mayor of the City of Seattle, 
do hereby proclaim, April 14, 1985, as LOUIE, LOUIE FOR NORTH-
WEST HARVEST DAY in Seattle, and encourage all the people of 
Seattle both to support and enjoy the Louie, Louie benefit 
concert.
